Meng Wangzhou (Meng Wanzhou), daughter of Huawei’s founder Ren Zhengfei, has sent shockwaves to China when a Canadian court revealed that she was arrested and faced fraud charges in the United States.
She is the daughter of the founder of Huawei, Ren Zhengfei and his first wife, Meng Jun. Ren is a former military officer in the Chinese Army.
Meng Wangzhou (Meng Wanzhou) is the Chief Financial Officer of the Chinese telecoms giant Huawei. She was arrested in Vancouver and now faces extradition to the United States. Regarding the news of the arrest, China has demanded her releases by insisting that she has not violated any laws.
The Supreme Court of British Columbia was told that Ms Meng had used a Huawei subsidiary called Skycom to evade sanctions on Iran between 2009 and 2014 and that she had publicly misrepresented Skycom as being a separate company.
Due to her act, she may face up to 30 years in prison in the US if found guilty of the charges.
